Starting Saturday, May 26th there will be a farmers market on the hill! A wide variety of vendors will set up in the parking lot of the Monastery each week. Irons Fruit Farm will be making hot biscuits to sample their jams and jellies and Coffee Break has created a special roast coffee just for the Bow Tie Cafe’.

Pilgrim Chapel Colonel’s Karaoke May 20

The next Colonel’s Karaoke fundraiser for Pilgrim Chapel will be in the Pilgrim Chapel Community Room on May 20, from 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm. Libations will be available. We expect to return to the Celestial in June…April’s event there was quite successful.

Mt. Adams Walking Tours are back!

Guided walking tours of historical Mt. Adams are beginning their seventh
season on May 13 and will continue May through October. Tours are
scheduled the second ond fourth Sundays of each of those months and
step off at 2 pm. Guests meet the guide at the corner of St Gregoy and
Pavilion Streets. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tours last 90
minutes, involve some moderate grades and steps and cover less than a
mile. For more information or to schedule a tour on other dates, call Jim

NEW Trash & Recycling Collection Day in Mt. Adams

Beginning the week of March 5th, our trash collection day will change from Thursday to Wednesday. March 7th will be the first pick up under the new city route plan.

Positive Progress in Mt. Adams Entertainment District

As a result of numerous problems with weekend visitors to the Mt. Adams entertainment district, the community forged together with the Mt. Adams Tavern Guild and the Cincinnati Police department to implement immediate change. These changes include adding a roving detail to better patrol the residential areas and managing traffic flow with the addition of cab stations. The changes are resulting in positive progress as reported by residents this past weekend.

A resident on Louden Street complimented: ”I woke up Saturday around 2:00 AM and heard some street noise, there were maybe 15 or 20 kids on Louden. There was a loud bang and I suddenly saw several police right there on the spot. It looked like they arrested 1 or 2 people. Then another patrol car came right up. Another officer on a bike arrived and continued to aggressively tell patrons they needed to get out of the street and not linger in the residential area. The Police were fabulous. They were right there on top of the situation which could have easily spiraled out of control. Once the police arrived, I could see people change behavior and they left quickly and orderly. It is clear that it is not easy dealing with the crowds but I have noticed and really appreciate what a positive difference the effort by the Cincinnati Police has made in our community.”

You can also call 911 or 765-1212 for any other problem activity (noise, public urination, car damage, violence, vandalism, busses parked in front of your house, etc.).

Residents Take Action Against Drunken Behavior

As many people know, the problem of drunk visitors to our happy hill is out of control. Many residents have had enough and we are trying to get the police and bar owners to help us take back the hill. At the 1/3/12 Civic Association meeting we had everyone represented and the residents were given the opportunity to speak up. Here’s the News 5 story about the problem done by Terry Daniels.

The police need the help of residents to monitor and report on activity. If you see vandalism please take a picture with your smart phone. If you see bad behavior please take a video with your smart phone. Send your ideas, photos, videos, and anything else to mtadamscivicassociation@gmail.com. We will share them with the police.
